Sure. And any tank with a big cat in it.

If you're worried about size you could always go with a giraffe nosed cat. They look similar but stay smaller

May look into one of those. My tank isn't big enough for a ripsaw.

Here is one of the twins I have for sale. I am thinking really hard about keeping one. I had one that got killed by pesticides. I have always wanted them.

Inquire away...I may keep one for myself. I am thinking hard about it. I love these cats. These are a really active pair of cats. Normally they like to lay around, but these two are more active then my tsn.

I think one would grow too big for my tank.

Just for clarification, so far all I've seen are Oxydoras niger (fork snout catfish). Ripsaw cat is Megalodoras irwini. They look similar, but are much more bulky, more spikes and a little more aggressive from my experience. I have kept them with rays very well, though.

I have seen Niger's referenced as ripsaws. That is how I have known them. I have not seen irwini noted as ripsaw. I might have mixed up a time or two that it was irwini and thought it was Niger. Just my experience. Even planetcatfish and Google searches show Niger's as ripsaw. Were did you see them as irwini?

I think a niger is one of the best cats to put with rays but I would not reccomend one to anyone without a 4' wide tank. Mine is over 3' and bulky as hell but even being this big is a gentle giant with newborn pups and will leave them alone it can also handle a 32"+ castexi pushing it around.

Interesting, I wonder why it is so common to be used as the Niger all over everywhere else.
