He was three miles from my house on the snakehead episode. I was wondering what this fish was in a canal near my house. Now I know its a snakehead. Pretty interesting.

Have been fishing salt and fresh for 40 years and have great respect for Jeremy Wade and his passion. But sadly, the RM show is getting very desperate, and seems compelled to ramp up drama and "horror" where it just doesn't exist. What this does is to demonize a given species of fish, which sure as hell will not help with any sort of conservation whatsoever - just the opposite in fact. Come on now - killer sturgeon? Killer giant salamanders?? What's next. Serial killer gobies and murderous hushpuppies?? And because there are only so many species of large fish in freshwater, the show now seems to be chasing totally unproven legends. As an example, dangerous creatures like giant rays are dangerous only on rare occasions, and almost always when people mess with them too much, try to catch them, or mistakenly step on them. Simply put, just because a fish is large does not make it dangerous. But to RM, any large fish is a killer and the show goes to great lengths to pump up the tension where none exists. I have snorkeled around trios of 80+lb Barracuda and was never bothered once. I have caught Bull Sharks in Fla and never had a problem with them - ditto 50-100lb rays.

The smart shows know when to quit, and this show is at least one season too long. I knew this when JW and crew did the episode on the giant "killer" salamander. I mean, come on now!!! If someone held you upside down by your tail, what would you do? Damn right - reach back and try to rip the holder's hands apart. Wake up JW and RM. Cut the crap and maybe take a year off to find some new "monsters." Otherwise, JW, you can slowly but surely kiss your credibility goodbye.

Credibility?...Keep in mind that Wade's show just like most on AnimalPlanet are meant to entertain first and foremost. The fish shows on Discover have a different feel to them.

well i think the shows cool, and every time me and my buddies go fishi g we always yell, FISH ON!!! we have a fish!
