River Monsters Red Belly Pacu

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This episode actually really upset me. First off I wish people would have not ever introduced these fish in non-native water. Second off the native fish I hope are not going to get run out. Plus many of these people around the lake use the water for many things from washing clothes, dishes, bathing, etc. The people who introduced them made a big mistake, obviously there was not enough nuts/vegetation for these creatures and now the Pacu is clearing all the vegetation that IS there now....

Typically, on most occasions, I don't dip my junk into my aquariums, or others aquariums. I think i'm safe.

How do you cool off on the summer day?

Did anyone learn anything from this thread? You guys arent feeding your fish correctly, they enjoy a diet that consists of testicles. Definately not a test I want to try with the 18"+ ones at my work. They can fit whole apples in their mouths

 what is it that u do that would allow u to drop ur drawers at work anyways...

Give someone 20 bucks to try this lol

OMG people dismiss Pacu as being bad hunters and are big for nothing. I have about 7 Pacu ranging from 12'' to 24'' and they out compete the oscars, gar, cichla, jaguars cichlids in my pond and all these other fish are adults. These fish will eat anything they get and when they get hungry EVERYTHING IS ON THE MENU. When I throw live food they can follow the live food while its air borne and reach it on time once it hits the water, my pacu have no problem with me either, they are hand tame and while gladly take a shrimp out of my hand, and if keep my hand in there long enough hell they'll go after my hand. What I'm trying to say is they are not the fish that everyone has made them to be, they demand a lot of respect. And I wouldn't expect anything less from a cousin of the Piranha.

Anyone own a Pacu as large as the monster he caught? That beast was massive!!

Like TripleTail said, here in Florida and in Miami, Florida especially you see them. Pacu can be found in 19 different states!!!!! I've caught pacu, I wish you guys could see the 50 pounders that I see all the time, I mean they are huge, and smart. I've caught a few but these are to smart they play with their food before taking it. 3 of my pacu are caught right out of the everglades.... In 20 years I don't think the native species will be able to keep up with these beasts.

I don't know why this was such a shock to anyone, pacu do it in their native range as well. Soon as I read the description I went "Pacu!" but then saw it was in Papua...
