Man this is aggrivating. Before the fish arrived I was able to call them and almost always get an answer. Now I can't get them to respond to anything? Still no refund, and no communication at all? Anyone else have any luck?

Not goliath, and its not the season for goliaths babies, they come from a different region. Trust me on this one.

Is it a possibility that these were acquired through a breeder and not collected wild?

100% NOT POSSIBLE. they've not been bred except once in Japan, over 20 yeras ago, and those were vittatus! All the people receiving goliaths now are left over from last season, which lasted until January this year.

So if these are 4-5" they could still be goliaths then?

Don't mean to be rude, but I'm not quite sure if you are in denial. GATF from last season would be 9"-10" already, even VATF from last season would be already 8". 4"-5" is freshly imported

the ones posted, are not goliaths. I'm 100% sure. all the wild goliaths from January are at least 10" long, cannot be shipped anymore. There are a few from hobbyists, that are still small.

all the freshly imported one, I'd call slender tiger, h. forskalli or what you may.

So more than likely they are vitti or forsk... i really dont care anymore i just want my fish... I talked to them on the phone today and they said all the atf were dieing during shipping? They said it was a problem with there water so who knows i will have my three thursday i'll throw some pic's up when i get them.... Whats the main difference between vitti and forsk? can they be kept together? thanks

forskalli stay small, probaby won't past 15" for most people, slender, and fast., neat fish usually very dark markings on the body.

vittatus get real thick, nice colors and black markings., they easily get 20" plus in captivity, grows fast, and are most aggressive.
