happens here all the time

i always say....

how does someone hit a turtle?
its not like it JUMPED out in front of the car like other animals do
:irked:
:iagree: Plus if you weren't paying attention to the road in front of you so you didn't see a turtle, you have other issues going on.

this happened to me this last summer. i was driving home from my softball game right at dusk. i was cruising at 55-60 mph when i saw something practically on the other side of the road. as i went by i saw it was a nicwe size snapping turtle. probably had a 14-15 inch shell length. i decided to turn around and make sure it made it across. in the minute and a hlf it took me to get there someone had hit it!! i was pissed. seriously, the thing was half off and half on the rd. some piece of crap idiot had to swerve to hit it........unbelievable.

in cape cod on the rail trail i heard my sister yell "Guys! Turtle!" My Dad and me stopped short. I picked it up...a baeutiful tortoise about 10'' wide with yellowish rings...and moved him off the trail.

As I was driving home today I noticed a turtle waddling across the road nearly across to the other side,I looked in my revision mirror and noticed he just missed getting clipped by a truck. So I pulled into the nearest side street, parked and bolted back to grab the little guy. When I got there the poor little guy had been run over.:(.I was shattered. It was bout the size of a dinner plate.

people try to hit them..:(

i lost count of how many turtles i have brought home snd how many are out in my yard now, they eat a lot of dog food...
