Rock bass

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I agree, thats some very nice pics....we have Ozark bass down here (a cousin of rock Bass) very cool looking fish.

not yet, they are taking freeze dried shrimp, any live worms. they dont seem to be interested at all in foods that dont look real, or smell real. i fed them freeze dried krill once because i wanted them to eat more fiber exact same size as shrimp but they wouldnt eat them because they way they smelled, same with pellets they will eat them then spit it out after tasting it a bit.

Perch are like that. I had similar issues with walleye. As for the rock bass they are a little dull IMO and If you can I would recommend green sunfish bluegill or seeds.

here in Mn. we catch and toss rock bass..lol terrible eating! never thought to keep them.. i do have 2 Large mouth bass im trying to get rid of ... anyone????

well YOOPER, I live in Saskatchewan Canada, we dont have any members of the sunfish family besides SMB LMB and Rock bass, SMB and LMB are only located in 1 lake in the province. the only other member is rock bass in 2 other lakes sadly, so either i get a walleye, few rock bass, SMB or LMB

Sounds like you need to road trip Southeast my friend. Try going to the local bait shops as well and see if they will let you sift through the bait minnows, you may get lucky. Although if you were lucky you wouldn't live in Canada. :)

Can you buy or trap dace minnows?

Here is a picture of my rock bass.
