As long as it is a well made aquarium, which it appears to be, then you shouldn't have any problem...I would go with the egg crate as mentioned above.

Alright I will probably follow the egg crate route. Thanks for all the posts. Hopefully I'll be able to post a stocked (and not broken) aquarium in a week or so!
egg crate is great stuff but in reality if he is scared of your 40lbs, dont let him know about my 150 or so lbs in my reef tank. he might come slap my hand or something

It's not foam egg crate like the mattress type stuff, it's the grids you see on flourescent lighting fixtures, etc. You can get it at Lowes/Home Depot for next to nothing.

40 pounds of rock isn't going to weigh 40 pounds in the water. It's weight is reduced by the weight of the water it displaces.
man, the water in your tank wieghs over 1000 pounds alone. Pretty sure if the glass can handle that then as long as the 40 lbs isnt forced down on 1 point then you will fine
