Rocky My JD At Top Of Tank

Hi everyone. I put the rock's back and I thought Rocky was happy. He keeps going back to the top of the tank . The water is fine & he eats. Is this what JD's do?

It doesn't have to do with food. Could I have made him really mad taking the rock's out and putting them back? I can take a pic tomorrow. The lights are out in the room and I don't want to spook him.

Lol Jack's are pretty slow going chilled out cichlids from my experience... they're ambush predators aswell so that seems to be their thing... just let him do his thing!
