I purchased 2 RQ's last wknd and one died already. Compared to my other fish they seem to be very shy and like to hide. I hope there is nothing wrong with him..
I've got a 12" or so Rose Queen alone in a 75gal and he will tolerate no tankmates. I would expect your RQ to destroy the JD eventually.
I am moving all my fish into a couple 180's, and hope the RQ will allow something else in there with him, but I will not hold my breath....
I have an 8"-9" RQ in a 180 with a jd,gt,bb,jag,ck's and 2 pacu..Gets along with everyone but the little pacu.. I think the pacu likes to be chased though--they're like rugby players lol!!!!. My Rq is pretty peaceful for the breed--just lucky I guess?
If you want to put your RQ in with any other fish, I would recomend a larger tank with hiding spots.. The more room/hiding spots fish have the more likely they are to escape aggressive tank mates...Just my 2cents..
well first off rose queens are as aggressive as the flowerhorns so its not recommended to keep with other tank mates. so its better to keep it alone in the tank by itself. but if you really must then its gonna be a gamble. i pulled it off with 6 flowerhorns a while back but only lasted 4 months or so. it got pretty ugly after that.
Just so you guys know and don't get things mixed up. Rose Queen and FH is 2 different fish we're talking about here. Hybrid? Yes, but 2 different fish.
As far as the topic goes, the JD will get murder soon...
