The problem with RTC in 225gal is that they will outgrow it. I think you are better off without a RTC.

Rosy Reds ain't better than goldfish, in fact they're both worst feeder fish. Try feeder guppies or any livebearers.

Rosies are less fatty and don't contain thyamine (spelling), no?

your best bet would be to eliminate feeders of all kinds asap....... they are bad news to your fish in many way.. lack nutrition and introduce a host of diseases .. the only safe ones are ones you raise yourself.. but then they still do not compare to a good pellet........ so if i were you i would start introducing a pellet ..

They do contain thiamine....all members of Cyprinidae have thiamine.

My armoured catfish the LNG and hejuta actually get along fine for the time being. I do fully expect that if they are not eventually seperated the hejuta will be lunch one day. Once the 225 is sorted out we plan on using the 55 for a planted tank and having a small school of hejuta in there. Also, had no idea that the CK and LNG would have problems...one hides at the bottom except when feeding he rarely comes out of his cave. And the LNG loves the live plants at the top and only comes down to feed. As you've owned both you already know that im sure. Thought i had a compatible group...now im kind of bummed.

Breed mollies, platys or swordtails, very easy to do. Iv done it by accident a few times, thats how simple it is.
Check live bearers breeding stickys.
