Hey, thought I might start up a new journal for my 8'x2.5'x2' stand build I did a few years ago as seen http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55623

This time, since then I've moved into my own place and its time to build a new setup to be installed in my front entry to the house.

Once finished the tank will become a marine reef setup to welcome people into my house and be setup to look like an inwall tank.

The tank is currently emtpy @ mum n dads place where the old setup was built, and I'm in the process of building a new stand and planning my setup

So lets get started with the plan

I want to split my front room off from the front door as I use it as a computer room/study and it is currently competely open to anyone entering the house.

To do this we plan to build a fake wall that will be relativly easy to remove in the event that we buy a new house or move in the future (and want to take the tank with us instead of upgrading to bigger haha :D)

The tank itself this time will be setup over the next 12months, and I will be planning to run all the electrical gear via PLC controls with alarms setup for PH, temp etc.

Circulation will be run via a closed loop system after we drill some new holes in the bottom of the tank to incorperate the external pumps that will be used.

Lighting will be setup via 2x Solatube skylights as the principal lighting and sup'd with a DIY LED lighting arangement.

So new plans a worthless without pics so heres the stand design.

The adjustable feet I made up at work to be able to make the stand level once inside the house.

Stand half way through me undercoating it.

The stand after i've finished painting it, and move it into the house, as you can see it will make a mini hall way when you enter the house so that the computer/study is seperated, but also be a nice feature to enter to and to look at while working on the computers.

This is currently where I'm up to, i need to finish screwing the ply on and setup the frames for where the doors will be on the computer room side for access to the sumps.

After this the skylights will need to be ordered and installed, followed by the tanks moved across and then work can begin on the top frame that will be screwed to the roof.

Once the top frame is build the stand will be cladded with gyprock, painted and finished off with skirting

yeh, they should be fine, they are 40mm dia with a 10mm rubber thick base on them and theres 10 feet spaced every 2' alone the stand

Been a little while since i did an update, unforunately not a lot on the stand has changed, due to me being busy @ work.

But I have been able to drill all the holes i need to in my tank for the close loop system and install my wier, and have the skylights installed above the where the tank will be.

soz for the qual of some of the pics, I only had my phone on me when i drilled all the holes and installed the weir since the tank is still at my parents place.
