..unless he means Longnose Gar (prob. not though)... it's common to call them Needle Noses in the south, but his New Jersey tag (not south) 10" size has me confused. Not saying it's not possible or likely exaggerated , but personally I've never seen a Needlenose Gar (Xenentodon cancila) get over 8" in aquaria. Damn common names... and why those are some common in the trade when he have Atlantic Needlefish (Strongylura marina) in the U.S. is beyond me! I always thought they would make a great brackish predator fish for aquaria...
