My first real bona fide monster catfish !

A tiger shovel nose ! (sorry excited I have wanted one for years now I will have the proper home for him) He is being housed in a 55 with a similar sized ompok for a month or so until my 400 or so gallon gets set up.

he refuses to eat pellets. will only eat raw meat. where the hybrid took to pellets no problem. also the tsn was swallowed whole by my sveni pike when i moved him from my 20 to my 55. i had to chase that ba$tard around the tank with my hand for 5 minutes to get him to spit it out. but that was 3 weeks ago and he's still doing alright. (sveni go rehomed to the pond where one day the tsn might have a chance at retalliation.
yeh i have the same problem with my TSN pair...they r already 6 years old tho so it is too late to train them. they wud simply starve for half a year if i didnt buy live food for them. but since ures is still a baby u shud really just persist.

i have still persisted, i only feed my aro raw meat once or twice a week max, and the tsn has to compete with a bushy nose pleco an albino (almost) pleco, and a spotted raphael for the meat that falls. otherwise i feed the pellets daily. still no luck though, but thats why the hybrid already outgrew the 55 and the tsn hasnt grown very much at all.

1 year old rtc should be 2 feet. you get the picture

What is the ratio to how big the RTC gets in comparison to age (if fed normally)?
mine are 6-7 years old now...kept in a large pond. largest one is around 46 inches by now...they slow down in length growth at around 3 years old but get MUCH thicker and wider!

Hey guys i just bought a baby RTC and hes about 2". My problem is that hes in the same tank as a Marble cat 2" and it seems like its getting bigger than the RTC. What foods should i feed them so they can grow equal in size? What do i do to make the Redtail more comfy in his new home?
