Hey there are a ton of posts on here so I might've missed it but there is a tsn x rtc hybrid at my lfs. Are these naturally occurring hybrids or are they captive bred?
Please help, when I woke up the other day I noticed that my hybrid seemed to break one of his upper horns off and the the has a film covering it. His dorsal fin has a whole in it and looks horrible, his tail has a whole in it now and he has open sores on his tail and up on one of his gills. I was trying to treat it with adding stress coat and that seemed to help the soars for one day, but they came right back. I bought some melafix and started treating with that yesterday. Is there anything i need to do or not do. He is a couple years old and about 20-24in long. My ph in the tank is good and he is in a 220gallon tank. I never had a problem with my cats until we moved to our current house. The same thing happened to my TSN and he didn't make it.
Thank You Scott
Are there sharp decor and objects in the tank? Does he have other tank mates? As far as healing, that should be almost instant lol. Well compared to most fish i consider it instant. Id think in a few days he'd look good as new.
Mines about 18" and he heals almost over night. Somehow i woke up teh other morning and his back lower fin under his tail was all bloody and there were the bones showing and the skin all ripped up. In 2 days, his fins fully regrown, bones back under the skin, and he looks good as new.
perhaps a few water changes.
