RTC in 125g tank

RTC will outgrow them, and probably eat them sad to say. They grow way faster than channels. My channel was 10" when I got my 1" rtc. Now the channel is 24" and the rtc is 26". If I had the rtc when they were closer in size the channel cat would probably be history right now.
 
idk tho.. that gar if it doesnt grow fast could be gone soon depending on the growth rate of your RTC... too skinny IMO. thats why im having trouble finding some good tank mates..
 
any good tankmate suggestions? besides the arrow and pacu? i want a top/mid swimming thats more appealing to the eye than a pacu.. if theres any fish that would fit
 
i believe if it could catch the gar in size due to its shape it would easily swallow the gar... i bought mine for 25$ a piece at 3.5"
 
yea i would wait until either both the gar and the channel were double the size of the RTC or just go by a larger gar and channel. and another fish with the body shape that isnt very easy to get down. thats what im trying to accomplish right now with my RTC's lol i will let you know if i find any good tankmates to go with the RTc that arent cats
 
i do have a question for you tho.. im getting my 125 ready what kind of filtration do you have on there? i was thinking about getting a FX5, do you think that would suffice?
 
Haha alright see cause actually my longnose i found as a baby in my local river and I thought he was kinda lonely so i went out and bought the channel catfish cause he was cheap, like $4 so I threw him in there and I have had no problems, so of anything I wanna keep the gar cause he is my favorite one if you get me and I wanted to add another exotic fish in there like a rtc or do you think that a tsn would be a better fit because those are also really cool to.
