theres a difference b/w newbs and you.. you got a 230 gallon, most newbs have a tank in the 20 to 55 gallon range.. atleast hes got a few more inches in your tank left before he needs to find a new home.
If you're looking to donate your RTC your best best could be cabelas or bass pro shop. They always have at least one in their displays and one of my buddies recently donated a 3'+ arowana to our cabelas.
Well dammit... today I flipped on the light in the tank and my RTC is laying there dead... swallowed a 10 inch oscar and in the process died....
The oscars have been in there with him for quite a while and I figured there would be no way he could eat them... had no idea it would put my cat at risk.... if anything the oscars had a little risk.. I am just totally bummed... was working on a better pond style set up for him... found a hatchery stock tank that was looking pretty good...
anyway here is a photo... I just dont even know what to say
Not all the time but there is a possibility of progress wherein less and less such errors would occur. It's the ever-changing circumstances that get us often - there will almost never be the same tank in the same place, with the same filter, with the same tankmates, same age/size, etc. etc. etc.
