Knee deep in fish
so its been a while since ive been on mfk (rc race season)but tonight my little rtc puked up his dinner from last night lucky for me my filter was shut down as i was doing a w/c well i ended up changing 80 or so percent of the tank water is there anything i should look out for

If your water is alright (clearly it is, since you change water) there is nothing to worry about. Your kittie just overate a little lol ... happened to mine also though not as often when they are big

it seems to have a touch of amnonia not enough to register as a number but just a slight green tint in the test tube.i may change another 150gal tonight

OH HELL YEAH!!! and makes a mess to... not to mention if you don't get the water changed it can literally kill them and anything else in the tank...

The reading that your getting is the left over in the tank... it will fix itself but you can change the water again and have some extra piece of mind... I've learned that if I do a water change to soon after a feeding then Buster has a habit of showing me his last meal as well... then it's usually 2 more water changes after that :irked:

Yup, you will have to watch when you feed your RTC and you water changes. I remember when I first got my RTC. I fed him so much that it looked like he swallowed a baseball. I feed him shrimps earthworms tiliapia. I did a W/c the next day and he puked all that up.............Ewwww!!!!!!. I think its the chlorine or chlorine remover that makes them puke!!!!

keep in mind when i said my little rtc im talking 18+inches ,had him since he was feeder sized but he is still happy in my 300 for now.ive got a 750 at the shop and a spare room for the adult pond also i have a tsn/rtc same deal same size a blu cat and an albino cc both in an outdoor pond so im not really new to catfish nor did i do a w/c while feeding.this was at about 36 hours after feeding and the first time that "fat head"has ever puked
