Seems like everyone on this forum are a bunch of a holes just looking to tell someone what there doing wrong because there not doing something the way you think it should be done.

Its not that we're a holes as you say. Its that most of the time when people get these types of fish they have no idea what they are getting into, or sometimes they just deny the truth that they arent prepared for the fish they bought. Believe me it happens alot on this forum and maybe thats why the responses are not as nice as they could be

There were plenty of reasonable things said here. The three that no one, I think, would/should argue against:

1. It's, arguably, the most-written-about fish. Just point the OP to the right page(s), as one gentleman/lady did. The same for Nitrogen cycle.

2. Keep only to the topic and to the question(s). Answer the question directly, in a concise, constructive, helpful manner.

3. Think before you post: will my post bring in a value/use/help, will it help this person and the community who will be reading it for years to come? So many confuse a forum like that with a tweeter and create e-pollution and e-garbage making us all sift through tons of pages and posts to find actually something of use in so-o-o many threads that it is real sad. So often, the replies sincerely look like they are made out of boredom, of the drive to increase post count, evil-driven "playfulness", empty, trivial, mind-numbingly repetitive compliments, prejudice (alone is bad but on issues having nothing to do with the questions stated is double worse), etc.

Please forgive me too. I am not perfect in practicing what I preach.

old thread and could be a good thread to bump, but one of the first basics is NO3. this is a bit suspicious, and could be a useful thread to look at, showing how to care for rtcs
