well thanks for the congrats on the baby, hes 9 days old tomorrow! and the tank is a 240 which they will stay in until they near 2 feet.

yea ill probably just do the floating plants...
 
if it were me id want to have optimal viewing of them, thats what i would do for that setup. but alas, it is not mine lol. congrats as well.

you're welcome, if he takes the taste for foshes like the parents, he is the MFK next generation.

And I was asking about the lenght, width and height for your 240 gal.
 
Have you considered black gravel at all?? Looks pretty nice, brings out alot of colour in the fish.

i have. i thought about doing black sand or gravel. but decided to have it look as natural as possible for a little while.. kinda wanted it to almost mimic a river bottom. plus i already had a left over bag of tan colored pebbles :) or else it would have been black.

i havent put the cats into the 240 yet so i still have time to change my mind :naughty: and i can always switch... its rocks

i think the exact same way. that 1 log is going to be the only thing in the tank. when they hit about 11 inch it will be removed and nothing will be on the bottom and only the floating plants will be there to have the downed tree effect
 
i juuuuuust put the cats in the 240 with a bunch of goldfish that i hope they eat.. hopefully they like it
