Seems like the consensus is it should work but I will need to keep an eye on them. I believe it will be fine as long as the stingray is big enough not to fit in the rtc mouth. Thanks for you help everyone.
sorry did not know there were three more pages of threads, I own the rtc that everyone is debating about. He has been in tanks with bichirs that are half his size. he has been housed with 2 other catfish and 3 other bottom feeders. He has not had any issues with them. He is housed with a tsn now. I am a pretty experience fish keeper, yet I have not had experience with stingrays. I have owned rtc(S) for over 5 years and have never had one eat one of his tank mates. My
previous 2 rtc were 3.5 feet and 2.5 feet. I never had a problem with them eating any other fish. I know every fish is different but he is very peaceful now.
I have a Ray and rtc together, Ray is timid and rtc is bossy but they get along well enough. Rtc is 2.5 ft & Ray is 14" disk. I house small fish wit my rtc but I leave a night light on so they can c the rtc coming- rule of thumb sez anyfish u don't want ur rtc to eat will b the one to get eaten. Experience tells me never trust an rtc- even well fed ones.
U can't watch em all the time, if u end up doin it, night light is my advice. That's wen the rtc will try his luck wether it fits or not
I have been on this forum for quite a while now and read soooo many of the old threads, the general theme seems to be that there have been many instances of rays being eaten and I know of one where the rtc died by the sting.
