Okay i have a RTCxTSN its 1 1/2 inches and in a 20 g tank hes acting weird like i dont see him eating, and he hangs out in a corner with his head down, and he swims around the top, and now he thinks hes a pleco trying to use his mouth as a sucker. And i was hoping to keep him in an unknown size tank (35-50 g range) but after reading all the posts i geuss thats impossible:(.

HI try frozen blood worms my both of my baby RTC X TSN eat them like pigs!!!!! Considering the size of both parents the tank will be inadiquate shortly!! Indoor pond would be your best way to go!

what is the smallest tank/container i could keep him in?

i had a LIma in a 20, he was 3 inches and killed himself by smashing into the glass, id get a bigger tank asap even if he is too small for it

Thanks for the info but theres no way I'd be allowed to get another tank.

that's your biggest tank?!? Should have thought of that before buying the fish. These guys get potentially up to 5', and I have never seen one smaller than 3'! I understand the rookie mistake, but return that fish immediately if you don't have plans for at least a 300g in the near future!

You would need atleast a 8' long by 3' wide tank to house that fish for life. I have read stories of tiger shovelnose busting the glass on 125 gallon tanks. I don't know the truth of the stories but I could see it happening. I would check your pH and your temp. Your tank should be in the mid to upper 70 degree range.

10'x 5' would be a better bet at the tank foot print size
if you aren't going to be able to get a new tank
return the fish and get some other new fish
