If it's true about the tag date, yes it's stunted... But this kinda stunt is a small matter as long the fish is eating greedily from now onwards. And it will bounce back to size fast. But some fish which under go controlled feeding may develop the habit of not eating much or sometime refuse to eat willingly...

It is absolutely so for silvers, but with asian's I thought 1"/month growth is about normal, maybe a little low, but not extreme.

I sure do, I've read that T1karmann can go through 1kg of superworms in a week so that should only cost around £20 here.

Currently it has no tankmates but I'm hoping to get some soon but I'm finding it a little hard choosing as my tank is planted.

Wow. You must be single and make good living there in UK :) But a senior engineer like me with wife + 3 kids in the US can't really afford this much spending. I feed my jardini shrimp/salmon/talapia/chicken_fillets as staple and superworms as treats only. 50 superworms in a small box cost $4-$5 where I live, and my jar could eat the whole thing in a day.

Koji the tag date is August 3rd. Do you think it is stunted?

Arodini, I'm still a student but my family own a restaurant so I have always enjoyed a high quality of life thankfully :).

Thank you Peewee!

I would only say how honest the tag date printed in the cert is true. As some farm may practise tagging their aro when they are smaller and younger while some tag when their fish is bigger or older. But the most accurate way to tell is by looking at the fish.

What I can say is young fish shouldnt display feature of an older fish. If it does then it's stunted but to what extend. If just temp kind, just normal feeding and with proper care, the fish will bounce back to size fast.;)
