your cat and aros may not be able to take that much salt
do one tablespoon per five gallons instead

:nilly: :nilly: well, it looks like i will have to go to lfs tomorrow. i just hope my fish make it. omg im in such a pickle.

I will just stick with vacumming the poop up for now. until i can get the stuff.

;) I got the test strips and ive checked everything out. it looks like my nitrates and nitrites are okay! :) now i just gotta figure out whats up with my fish because they are a little slow these days.... :( here are some pics that im pretty sure its good nitrate and nitrite levels

People, i think i have found the answer. If there isnt any problems with the nitrate or nitrite at all...there must be something else right?

Why do people shiver? because they are cold right?

So i was thinking maybe it is because my fish are cold...but the temperature is 75F

But i realized that i feed them FROZEN bloodworms....right out of the freezer!
Could this be the reason why? Since they are so cold they become strange? :irked:

This the only conclusion i came up with. This is what i got right now:
-perfect ph
-nitrate and nitrite
-10 percent water changes everyday
-feed everyday
-no bacteria or unusual things on the fish
-no fins rotting or disorders

So could this be the answer? :irked: :irked: :irked:

I thought the coldness was a problem but it wasnt! argh
when i did a 5-1 strip test, everything was okay except for kh? it was 40 ppm instead.
My fish are all breathing ridiculously fast and they are going crazy! :nilly: :nilly: :nilly:
I DONT WANT TO LOSE MY FISH!
What is the problem??
i want my 6 jack dempseys to make it out of this.
because i am getting a new tank in on tue/wed ish.
anything I can do? Is this some disease or illness? :(
Please help me. Thank you. :(

Oh i see. Umm test strips? i have no idea what those are. Can you lead me to a site to show me what they look like? and what do they check for?

Also, how can i get rid of this nitrate and nitrite?

I have a friend who has a 30 gallon tank. but hes a jerk and tells me to just leave the filter. he keeps in an arowana, 2 dempseys, and a big pleco ( i think it is ). he tells me he just water changes once a mnth and doesnt do much.

He is probably lieing. He says he has a fish that eats up the crap. :irked: :irked: :irked: but i dont believe him.... thats why im asking here on MFK.
wait wait wait... BACK UP!!!! Your friend keeps an aro AS WELL AS the others in a 30 GAL?????? First off how did he even manage that, secondly, invite him to the site, I have a few words for him. :FIREdevil

I found it was ich and now it is completely solved. My fish are in top shape and I found out the rubbing was to get the disease off of them.

Haha actually water_baby, He was the one who brought me to this site. He really is a jerk.

The first time I saw that aro, I knew that the 30 was way too small. He had 2 jds, 1 aro, and a another fish which name escapes me. ( it was like a catfish ) and a small oscar which was eaten by his catfishthingy.

He told me he was probably gunna sell his fish and keep his aro but thats the stupidest thing ever. I am new to this hobby and i have more common sense than him.

I told him to sell it on MFK.

Well thanks for all your help guys!
]V[FK IS THE BEST!!! :naughty: :naughty: :nilly: :nilly: :nilly: :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2 :headbang2
