well you know how people say that having a barebottom tank will cause the aro to have drop-eye bcuz its always looking at its reflection? well i googled arowanas and found that having a ping-pong ball in ur tank will help wit drop eye..is this true?

I have heard this too but the aro looses intrest in the ball after awhile then its not good, but I have heard a thereoy that a blinking diod might do the same for longer

I've heard the same thing but not sure how true it is. I guess it never hurts to try though.

I don't believe much of that anymore. My 5 arowana grew up together, and 3 had DE, and 2 did not. They were all from the same batch from a distributor. Of the four that remain 1 does not have it and 3 do. I use to have a barebottom tank, and 3 got it, 2 did not.

It's BS. Look into your tank from the top, ie not through the front glass, and there is no reflection. You see a reflection from the front, due to the angle of the 2 pieces of glass. Fish do not see their reflection, they simply see whatever is under the tank.

shall i show em rumble?

asian fish vets have cured DE by putting aros in ponds or tanks with the sides covered. But I think that was in asian aros only. I think that the problem in silvers relates to multiple factors.
