still think im on to something. :D

yes rally,cant answer you lol
why do some people need glasses and others dont?lol

if in a pond there less prone to it and in a tank more prone, well.

do we really know that for sure?, that would be an observation, but if we test it and test it over and over will the results be consistant? can it even be tested?

get on your table, put your head up to the ceiling.
now look around, where are you looking?look up,nice view?
now go outside,look around,now look up.better?
if you had to live like both those, what one would you pick?
aros like to be at the top.in a tank, they look up,they see glass and one bright azz light in there face.
i would always be looking down too lol

do you get what im saying or is it just in my head? :screwy:

but why does this most occur in silvers and not the aussies and asians?

above in bold

but it is does not affect almost every fish like the silver, silvers are if you will "plagued" by it.
:iagree:

I would venture to say that it's about as common for an asian or any other to get drop eye, as it is for a silver to NOT get drop eye..

The only real answer why is that no one knows why.

Drop eyes most likely happened to Silver Aro than Asian. No matter what you do if you own one of the silver aro the fish will have more chance of drop eye. I personaly having 3 Asian arowana 19" in length and the fish appeared with no drop eye @ all. Pay close attention to other arowana and you will see, don't waste your time try to improve.

I would venture to say that because we have Asian aros in abundance here, we do so many cases of DE. If it is indeed a "lineage" problem then it would occur even more in the future for Asian aros since there are many collectors for farms that do not case if the brood stock they collect has DE or not & have no qualms breeding those stock. Same goes for PLJ. :(
