My aro has a thin whitish film over one eye. The past week he stopped eating feeders, hangs out at the top of the water, and is sluggish. He did eat a couple of pellets today. He is a Jardini and I got him already big now he's around 1.5 feet long. A few months ago he swallowed an suction cup that used to hold airline tubing. Does it have anything to do with changes? Please advise.

thanks in advance

Hi All! I'm unable to post a pic right now cuz I can't find my cord for the cam. But here are the water parameters.

I checked the water 2 days ago after changing the water, then just now. After changing the water I put water conditioner, and 4 pinches of hawn salt

Feb.23 Feb.25
PH 7.2 7.6
AMM .25 .50
NO3 80 160
NO2 0 0
KH no data 53.7
CO2 no data 3

My aro is in a glass tank (18.5" x 72") I'm running a wet/dry filter with 2 powerheads. I had 1 piece of driftwood in until 2 days ago. I took it out cause it was collecting and making rubbish. I have undergravel filter with almost 2 inches of gravel (mixed).

Looking at my aro today I notice eye looking slightly better, not much but now I notice what looks like ick (just a little white dots on his topside). Please advise.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the advice.

Your tank isn't cycled. A cycled reading should be ammonia 0 nitrite 0 and nitrate 40<. You ammonia level is pretty dangerous and your nitrates is really high. Do a large water change ASAP. As time passes your tank will start be completely cycled till then keep ammonia levels low so your fish don't die.

Also that's a huge jump in your ph. What test kit are you using, you should do another test to make sure readings are accurate.

Thanks. I put a combinaMtion of Maracide, Coppersafe, and Ick Attack to treat the Ick but I initially only had Maracide and Coppersafe and it wasnt enough so I bought and added Ick Attack today. Do you think I messed it up by not doing meds all at once. Also another website indicated that for my tank size I should add 0.1% of salt equivalent to 470grams? Does that sound right? Thanks again. BTW I just realized I can post a picture via my phone. I was trying to post it but was having trouble attaching pic. Help!!
