SA/CA Breeding Pair Suggestion

I have been thinking about my next project, which will be an F0 (hopefully) breeding pair ether SA or CA cichlids, and I'm at a point were it might be beneficial to see what you all would do.

I have been teetering on a few ideas when considering what species. If you were going to start a new WC breeding pair, what species would you be interested in? Tank size is not an issue btw.

My vote would be Gold Saum (GT)... Ultimately I want to get into Discus, but that is going to be much later down the road when I have a much large tank to accomodate a large shoal.

flowerhorns are hybrids... but you shoul try and get you hands on cichlids that are hard find in the hobby.

I'd try something not common in the hobby, like Trimac or Lyonsi. Or Bifasciatus or other vieja/paratheraps species, there all really nice.

Did a little searching for rarer species and thought this guy looked good, Tomocichla asfraci. You could always use powerheads to create faster moving water and set up a long tank to simulate their environment.

Yeah I like the Loyonsi idea. I have liked the look of that species for a long time... never kept one though.. Maybe its time

With out knowing what you would want to do with the fry it's a tough question. Soooooo....If I wanted to be able to sell the fry to the LFS I would say somthing like a GT, JD somthing along those lines more common. If you wanted a WOW pair I'd like a big pair of Argentea, Chancho, Trimacs, Xilos, Festae, Istlantum or Beani take your pick, all good.
