With out knowing what you would want to do with the fry it's a tough question. Soooooo....If I wanted to be able to sell the fry to the LFS I would say somthing like a GT, JD somthing along those lines more common. If you wanted a WOW pair I'd like a big pair of Argentea, Chancho, Trimacs, Xilos, Festae, Istlantum or Beani take your pick, all good.

Yeah, The question is more, what are you interested in, not so much what you think I should do.
I know we see alot of those post "what do you think I should do", so we are stuck in the mode of needing more information to help others decide. I want to know, what would you do if you had the relative tank size?
edit: what you would do with the fri after, is up to you, if that was a deciding factor in your choice.

Good suggestions on the fish, love festae, and have the female already. Was leaning toward that

The world could use more Festae.
Or get a handful of wild caughts from rapps. Keep a pair, sell the rest.

Ok got ya, me I always wanted a pair of Istlantum that's what I'd get. Almost never see them and they look cool as hell.

Yeah, that was my bad. I didn't make it very clear in the opening post. Istlantum are nice, I like your taste.

might be a stretch but personally i would do a pair of Uaru fernandezyepezi

Not a stretch at all. A valid choice. From reading up on these guys it seems that they are somewhat fragile to water parameters, and the don't respond well to larger water changes. Is this really a factor if you properly condition the water before water changes?

If i had the space i would go for something like festae, beani, or haitientsis. it seems like theyre hard to keep and breed. i mean i see it bein done but its not as regular as Dovii, jack dempseys etc. If you were able to get something goin with one of these species i think not only would you be very happy but you would also be able to spread those little joys around if you successfully spawned them. I also think Istlanum are a good one too. i hear too many stories of people loosing their females or male and being left with only one not being able to replace the pair:(
