"Attention Members:

MFK has recently upgraded in order to more effectively classify information that is posted in our species forums. From now on, each forum will have available a media section that will allow for the posting of picture and video threads. These threads will be exclusively for posting video and pictures. All picture and video threads pertaining to the specific species can now be posted in the media forum pertaining to the genus or species of that particular forum, or the Photo Lounge. It's your choice.

No photo or video threads are to be posted in the informational sections sections unless it pertains to a discussion about the species. This addition has been made to make it easier for members to quickly access information about a species and to allow for the showcasing of collections within a particular forum.

In short, if you want to show off your collection, use the media section. If you have a question or informational post, it goes in the species forum.
If you have a question on where your thread belongs, please send a Private Message to a staff member. This should make it easier for members to find what they are looking for.
Thanks,
MFK Staff"

if yor showing off what you got post here. if you have a question about something post in normal category

Unfortunately, people here tend not to read or pay any attention.

Was the same deal a while back when everyone was told to only post photos in the Photo Lounge, where you couldn't reach your target audience either.

Administrators: If you want to reduce clutter, split up Central and South Americans into different sub-forums.

From what I've been able to tell, it depends on who is modding at the time, regarding where certain picture threads are supposed to be.

It was my understanding that the Media Lounge was like a mini Photo Lounge strictly for "showing off" your CA/SA's. But, honestly I don't know. A six paragraph info update with two photos isn't really Media Lounge material, in my opinion. But I had a thread like that moved there from the regular CA/SA forum. I've also had threads with a bunch of pics and very little information in the regular CA/SA forum not be moved to the Media Lounge.

I don't know, go figure. Personally, I liked it the old way. That is, with just the regular CA/SA forum (no media lounge) where you could also post a bunch of photos if you wanted to. But that's just me.:)

I rarely go to the photo lounge. I prefer getting pics and info all in one lounge. Just my 2 cents worth.

I like the new setup much better than the alternative, which is to only post our CA/SA pics in the main photo lounge. It was a great idea imo. I also agree with Terd that some of the posts that shouldn't be moved to the media lounge are, and vice versa.
