Sad Sad day in the fishroom :-(

My best girl wanted me to do stingrays but they are hard to get at a reasonable price here. I’m not about spending over a grand for a fish that my local fish store can’t get to eat...

I’m a huge fan of catfish and I’ve had far in the past and they are super awesome fish.
you could go for a gulper cat, ripsaw (my personal choice but they are also hard to get at a decent price), a red tail cat (he could go in there for awhile), or some plecos

Bro sad thing but next time led is important and yeah something happened with my oscars few months before they were taken out to clean the tank and after i put them back there was a red coloured mucus coming from there mouth and when i checked the bucket it was BAKING soda and i remembered that i filled bucket with water 5 min before cleaning and went to buy Something while i was gone my maid had replaced it with BAKING soda to wash something and she didn't even inform me that she did so and my three oscars died from that she also saw me keep them she told me there was BAKING soda when i i asked her if something was wrong with water

Don't beat yourself up too bad over it, we all make mistakes, sometimes ones that cost us dearly. Case in point- Not long after getting back into cichlids about 6 years ago I had my 75g holding tank set up with about 20 5"-7" haps all waiting till the 265g tank I was working on to get done. Tank is in the basement and one day after working on the big tank all day I switch the basement light switch off as I went upstairs for the night. Problem with that is the outlet that runs power to that tank (filter/heater/lights) is on that same light switch. Next morning I went downstairs to find 20 all male colorful haps dead. Only fish that survived was a pleco and my Polleni.

Worst part was it was 100% my fault. I felt like crap and almost got out of the hobby again. Now I have more tanks & fish than ever before and am very glad I didn't give up due to my mistake (that switch has a cover over it these days as well now lol).

So don't be too hard on yourself we all make mistakes.

Sorry for the loss, but it could be worse if it were a major flooding accident. WC is the most vulnerable time, as distraction from wife, phone call, TV, kids or falling to sleep can all lead to disaster. The bigger the tank, the greater the liability, not only because of the volume of water involved, but also the long time to fill and drain the tank. I had accidents before, but ever since I acquired a habit to turn on my oven timer in every WC, I have zero accident. Over filling is the most common accident. I use the timer to estimate how long it takes to fill to the top based on 5 min filling rate.
