I had to put my Oscar down tonight! Ive had him for over 6 years at 1". He has had HITH for about two years. It never got worse and he has been active normal and eating fine. He recently has become more and more angry. Tonight he spazzed out and smashed around in the tank and then was floating at the top sideways. I decided it was time, since I believe he was suffering. It was very very hard for my wife and myself! Sad day for us!

sorry to hear.. oscars are strange fish, you seem to get attached to them in ways that you just don't with most other fish. it broke my heart when my Toni died..
Sorry to hear about your fish. I've never owned an Oscar but from what i've heard from people that have them, you become very attached to them. If he was suffering you did the right thing. I had to put down a large male Texas many years ago and it broke my heart too. Cheer up and buy yourself a new Oscar.
my condolances mate. my oscar is like a dog, always excited when he thinks hes getting food.
i will miss him when hes gone.
u have to get another oscar, its the only way.
