Sad story about Walmart and Clown knives

First Walmart Sucks.

Next the suppliers are not going to stop selling to their Biggest Customer!

I have spoken to an employee of the supplier a while back & he said they are told to just bring new fish every week no matter if there is dead in the tank or not just keep the tanks filled with fish.

Walmart of crap has did away with fish in 700 hundred stores.

So more pressure may cause them to get rid of more if not all because of bad PR.

Support the LFS. There's not many left but there is some good ones out there. & Walmart prices are not all that great on everything.

I avoid walmart like the plauge for every thing that i can get some where else... for all the reasons listed in this thread plus many many more reasons... i hate walmart and refuse to support them in any way.. if i needed something right a way and nobody else in town had it ill drive 2 hours to oklahoma city or 2.5 hours to wichita kansas to find it or order online and pay for the fastes shipping method possible rather than spen one red cent in walmart

The Walmart I shop at usually has as many dead fish in their tanks as they do live fish! When I first got into the hobby I bought a few fish from them- they all died. I thought I was doing something wrong until I started shopping at an actual PET STORE & I still have those fish today =) I will NEVER buy fish from Walmart again.

GREAT NEWS!!

We contacted people and made a huge fuss. It turns out that these fish are not on the normal order, but they are just fish that the company sends along. Sometimes the company will send different species, but not offer any instructions. We learned that the only way for the company to not send a particular type of fish is for the store manager, not just the pee-on we dealt with, to contact them and request that they not send that type again.
We ruffled enough feathers this morning and the store manager, who was very nice about the whole thing, is contacting that company this morning. That store location will not carry knives again!!!
Of course, it is yet to be seen, but at least we got somewhere.
Good work

I can't say I wouldn't buy from Walmart. I used to own a few freshwater sharks and had them for 3 years before I had to move. I ended up selling them to uncle bills for store credit. I do wish I had the Bala Shark I had though, he was a pretty good size of about 9 inches long, 5 inches tall without fin, and sad to say he was about 1.75 inches thick.
I had him and a couple rainbows that were roughly 5 inches long and a common pleco that got to be 16 inches in total lenght all in a 55 gallon tank.

All but one of the rainbows came from Walmart.

The thing you guys and gals have to grasp is that we are passionate and caring to animals. Unfortunately a lot of people don't think that way. No matter what we do or how much we complain they will never stop selling and abusing fish-that is just the way of the world. Unfortunately, we live in a society where money talks-it's all about the dollar. I had a similar thing happen to me years ago at PetSmart-and the employees and managers looked at me like "get a life PETA dork!" And it doesn't stop with Walmart the list goes on and on-PetSmart, Petco, and those LFS that sell hybrid TSN/RTC Cats every week knowing full well that very few people in my area have tanks to house that type of fish.

And it's not just Walmart and other stores it's unfortunately the customers. Months ago this guy bought two hybrid cats and the LFS owner said they would be fine in a 55 gallon-I told the guy unless you plan to upgrade don't buy him. Do you think he took my advice? No, instead he looked at me like whatever-their just fish.

Sometimes you have to look beyond the box. They may just be fish now, but later they could be sandwiches! Mmmm!
