I think you all miss understand. I hated fish, she wanted a 10 gallon tank I was like what for fish are stupid. So I took here to the fish store to get a 10 Gallon tank where I saw BALA sharks, I feel in love. So now she had a 10 gallon, but was craying because it was to small and she wanted a bigger one.

See she wanted the fish, and I didn't Ironicly I grew to love them, an am now stuck taking care of all 3 of my tanks and her tank also. I guess I really now have 4 tanks and just let her thank its hers.

I think you guys are correct, she likes to look at fish and I like fish, I like to look at them also, but feel that if I have them I should care as much for them as I can.

Well it helps out oodles if ya give us the WHOLE story instead of just bits and pieces.

I don't know what the problem is still though. Sounds like you got the better end of the deal both ways!! You still got the chick, and you get to keep fish! What more can you ask for really?

Its when she starts saying stuff like the fish have to go and what not that its time to ditch her happy tail! Don't let anything come between you and the hobby!

Bala's noramlly don't get to 18 normally, more like 10 - 14, the rainbow will get to 6, the redtail will get to about 4, the Paradise will get to about 3, and the barbs 6.

I am well educated on my fish size's and need water conditions

I have about 75% of the money saved so far on for my 240 Gallon. I started saving the day I saw the bala sharks, I always research my fish before buying them. The only fish thats out of place is the neon tetra in the guppy tank.

I am obsessed with my fish, and stive to care for them the best I can, I guess you guys are right I get the best of it all. I can have my fish let her pretend to have her's, and if she comes around good if not ok.

I'm the fish-crazy gf, and I took my bf on a fish shopping excursion today. There's occasionally something in the store that will interest him. Like today...

Him: "Are you gonna get the Leaf Fish?"
Me: "I want to, but the tank isn't ready yet. I'll get him next time."
Him: "Can we get this castle?"
Me: "No. No castles."
Him: "Can we get the leaf fish?"
Me: "No."
Him: "Can we get the castle and the leaf fish?"
Me: "No."

And so on until we left the store..

Ahh I remember when I like castles, for a whole 2 months, then I was like this is silly looking. Now I strive for more natural. Rocks and plants, and drift wood, I am trying to get the handle on planted aqariums, driftwood scares me right now. If i find it on my own I am to scared to put it in the tank, If try to buy it the LFS holds me at gun point and says pay 15/lb.

I get a lot in retrun for what I do, I am just frustrated that she asked for it and then left them hanging.

I am lucky I have a girl I refuse to cook for myself and don't clean well, but I work very hard and make sure the bills are paid, the cars run, and my house is in shape.

sadly, thats how much driftwood costs.
it should be safe to take it, but it might be illegal so check your state laws. its illegal in wisconsin and michigan (i believe) to remove driftwood from any state owned bodies of water.
