I remember there was an experiment done that they kept salamanders from egg stage to adult hood without giving land for them to shed there gills they lived fine and healthy for a year until they where done with the experiment and finally gave them land to shed there gills. Might want to do this? Any opinions on this? Not sure if it affects the animal.
I'm currently growing out a pair of males. Just watch out and be sure to avoid the "Candy" frogs, they were subjected to being dipped in a mild acid to remove their slime coat, having ink tattoed into their skin, and then with their injuries being fresh, dipped in salt water to stimulate their slime coat to grow back. I didn't figure that out with mine till I brought them home.![]()
