Anytime.

What size tank is the Jack in? It may be smart to put him with the oscar and the parrot and give the puffer a tank to himself if you want to run it as a full brackish tank.

Just thinking out loud.....

When I listed my fish I worded it wrong. The puffer is in a tank by himself so it shouldn't be a problem.... Sorry..... Question: Does more salt = healthier fish? I know salt helps alot of ailments.... If he can handle more and I put more in.... Will he be healthier?

i was talking about my future fish.
You'll be fine. From what I understand (don't quote me) freshwater puffers can live in brackish and some even in saltwater aquariums. Salt water puffers, I've been told, can only live in strictly salt. I'm just trying to find out where mine would be happiest and healthiest.... Aren't I a great fish mom?! :)

nice, I'm gonna get on this project starting friday when I get paid. I will be the proud owner of a dwarf puffer.

Sometimes. It totally depends on how each individual takes to the salt. Each body will react a little differently to the salt in the water and how the fish compensates for it. Salt will ward of some parasites, but not all. It will also fight against certain types of fungus, but again, it's not a cure all.

He'll be best with a sable environment. It will allow for his own immune system to battle anything it may come up against.

Oh, and thanks for clearing up the "who is in which" tank thing for me.

lead me in the right direction puffergirl.
Dwarf puffers you could have more than one. If I were you though I'd get a green spotted, figure 8 or a red-eye (I believe the true red-eyes only get 3 inches max.....) Other than the dwarfs the green-spotted and figure 8's are most common but they have good personalities. From what I understand they do prefer more salt but you have some flexibility. Would have to research that a little bit more.....
