Salt mix preference?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I use Coralife salt and it seems to be doing alright.

Its the same price around here as IO and cheaper than Reef Crystals. I was going to get RC last time but was actually steered towards the cheaper Coralife by the LFS. Plus it came with a sweet T-shirt.

I don't think there is a "bad" salt mix out there nowadays. As long as youre doing water changes and keeping up on maintenance you will be fine with whatever salt you use.

Wow 40 bucks. Ya that is really good.

I am looking into switching over to Coralife myself. The 200 gallon boxes though, not the 160 bucket with the t-shirts. The best price I can get it comes out to about 8 dollars a box difference between RC and Coralife, 51 and 43 I believe, but I have to buy at least 3 boxes to get that price. That isn't an issue however, I got through it pretty quick.

Dustin...we need to do a bulk salt order sometime soon. I mean a pallet.

Plus its looking like I just got re-hired at the divestore. Yay for two jobs.

+1:)

Right now if you order with fosters you should get free shipping on salt.

You will also pay about $50 for 200g of IO:RC mix.

Are those the resale boxes or the store use only boxes? Those prices are pretty cheap

I can get mine from a store in Milwaukee called Best Fish. His prices on everything are right in line with Fosters and his fish are too, some actually cheaper. Amazing store as far as WI goes. He offers bulk discounts on salt too so for 10+ boxes of Coralife: $39, IO: $43, RC:$47-48

yzf450, where you ordering from for that price and what brand?

Flesh, I would be down, but I want to know how much it would be per box. If we don't save a decent sum then it proly isn't worth it. Let alone we would have to have all the money upfront obviously. I really have no clue what kinda price we would get on a pallet.

What is the Diverstore? Job doing what?

All salts have some level of phosphates, it just depends how much. You would actually be surprised by what elements are in each. Not necessarily better by price all the time.
