Salt mix preference?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Every aquarium I've worked for or with has used Instant Ocean. (Obviously right now I just use ocean water - but after two years of dealing with that, I'd go back to IO in a heartbeat if I could.)

I also use IO at home.

Flesh, I would be down, but I want to know how much it would be per box. If we don't save a decent sum then it proly isn't worth it. Let alone we would have to have all the money upfront obviously. I really have no clue what kinda price we would get on a pallet.

What is the Diverstore? Job doing what?

All salts have some level of phosphates, it just depends how much. You would actually be surprised by what elements are in each. Not necessarily better by price all the time.

I messaged a guy on RC about how much he is paying for a pallet, we will see if he responds.

I meant to say divestore...divepoint scuba downtown. Worked there for almost three years, apparently they need some experienced kayak help again.

There is a scuba store in downtown point? Didn't know that.

Also didn't know you were big into kayaking, I freaking love kayaking. My experience is somewhat limited though.

Nonstophoops,

Instant Ocean and from pet solutions

Wow ya, those are some good deals. They are undercutting Fosters by 2 bucks on their RC too. It's 47.99.

You have to spend 100 bucks though to get free shipping so you are going to have to buy a few boxes or get some other stuff.

I was using regular IO for a long time, then moved to reef crystals recently.

Honestly, it seems likes my corals havent liked the move to reef crystals, and I cant say why because calc, mag, alk, phosphates, etc.. all check out fine.

I can get mine from a store in Milwaukee called Best Fish. His prices on everything are right in line with Fosters and his fish are too, some actually cheaper. Amazing store as far as WI goes. He offers bulk discounts on salt too so for 10+ boxes of Coralife: $39, IO: $43, RC:$47-48

yzf450, where you ordering from for that price and what brand?

Wow! Sounds like quite the project!

Would you be willing to tell me how much you pay for a pallet? Fleshy and I were thinking about going in on a pallet together, but don't know how much we would save to make it worth paying it all upfront and storing it. You can PM if you don't want to say on here(that is if you want to tell me). :D

I buy mine premixed... so no preference

If anyone wants to get a group buy of IO, let me know - I have a hook up on bulk. Pallets come in a stack 200 gallon mix (5 gallon) buckets or as one big mesh sack of salt.
