when im rich beyond my wildest dreams ill have a nice sw lagoon built on my private island with large underground viewing windows for my hammerhead sharks! got to keep the dream alive
I was askiing that queston for a long time, but it is possible yet very very expensive, you will have to deal with evaporation, temp fluctuations and rain water. Though maybe it could be done with the hardiest species of salt water fish, and the right equipment,,,that could be a good way to investigate.
I figured I would add something ( a little late though). I live in Florida and when I went to the Keyes in July I went to a dive shop and they had an awesome pond there. It had some Massive (probably 30 inches) Parrotfish a green moray eel about 6 feet long, a huge grouper, and some other fish that were hiding. It was outside and had a walkway over it. It was one of the coolest things I've seen. I didn't have a camera on me though.
Yup I also live in FL (YAY I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE FL PEOPLE ON HERE FINALLYYYYYYYYYYYYY) ne ways so I took a trip down to the keys to Marine Camp (you gotta go one time its the shizz) and they had this HUGE HUGE Tide Pool looking pond along with a ray pond, it was pretty cool. Then also another cool thing was that they blocked off a saltwater section with nets and you could dive down and there was this underwater hotel - not kidding, it was the coolest thing I ve ever seen its like the people were in the tank and fish were observing them
It's approx 600 gallons.
Very large Groupers, cowfish, tangs, rays and eels.
It's very neat cause they all come to the surface to get love.
Very tame.
Very cool.
