Salvini× Texas Cichlid

Hello everyone,
Iv been trying to cross my female salvini with my male Texas for just under a year now. I believe if this strain in properly line breed it could turn out some beautiful hybrid fish. Well they have finally had a batch of eggs. As of FEB-16-2022 I will keep posting updates as time goes on. I plan on starting multiple long term threads like this on.

I haven't been able to find alot of info on that. The pictures that I have seen have had no yellow they all looked more like the Texas Cichlid.

One of the first hybrids I bred other than convicts hybrids. I only kept one female that showed some red spots with few pearls. Had more of a Salvini body. It paired with a male Nicaraguan but never ever laid eggs that I noticed.

Well the eggs hatched and they moved them. Sadly shortly after they moved them they ate them. I'll post agian when they lay again. I know new parents can take a few tries. Any advice yall could think of?

No they are in a 50 gallon corner tank all by themselves.

Update on breeding
My salvini ans Texas have had another batch.
They weren't happy with the tank set up, after a few changes were made they successfully laid and hatched a batch.
