yup your good, why not get a convict? 2s a pair but 3s a crowd
You could definitely add another cichlid that stays under 6". If you add a CA cichlid, try to make sure it is the same gender as your firemouth. The reason being that many CA species can hybridize and you don't want to have a defensive pair taking over that 55. A convict would be okay (if a bit boring IMO). I personally would add a festivum. It will use the middle and top portions of the tank and give more activity throughout the tank. There are a few other options of course.
Or you can leave it like it is. I love planning out and stocking my tanks for maximum occupancy, but there is nothing wrong with under stocking as long what you have makes you happy.
