OK, So, I wanted sand for my tank.
I've read very good things about sand and decided to splurge and get the "good stuff" for my Aussie Lung.
I bought Exo-Terra Riverbed sand, which has been used in ray tanks.
Now this stuff is all over my fish (Lung and Dat) and they can't get it off!
This has never happened to me in the past when I had sand in my salt water tanks (15 yrs ago).
Will this be detrimental to the fish? I'm guessing it sticks to them so easily because this stuff is very fine.
My instincts tell me to get this over priced crap out ASAP.
Please, some opinions on what I should do.
Thanx.

Are you sure that type of sand is for aquarium use? I thought it was just for reptiles.

I've heard of it being used in ray tanks (somewhere on this forum).

I have sand in my tank, but it's pool filter sand. It has larger, round grains that don't compact or scratch fish and I've seen very little stick to my fish. It's also pretty cheap. I got 100 lbs for $20

man get it out of there!

yeah...exo trra sand is only meant for reptiles.
very fine sand tends to get stuck in slime coats.

i just got pool filter sand from leslies and i love it its not very fine and looks natural. its pretty cheap you should consider that cuz obviously the expensive stuff isnt working.
