i use silica sand in my 75gal and its super fine, never had a problem and the plants do great in it, sorry bout your fish
Personally I would go with pool filter sand, as i did the sand box sand (if you do this make sure to read the labels, make sure its not treated) and I disliked it bc it was a very dirty sand and required much washing. I eventually took it all out after 6 months, as it didn't look nearly as nice or clean after a while, no mater how much I vacuumed up the waste. If i was to do sand again, I would go pool filter, but that is just my opinion.tylerperkins;2079308; said:just get sand box sand at home depot for $3 for a 50lb bag thats what i got wash it good and your ready to go im gettin 2 more bags tomorrow for my new 125
