i use silica sand in my 75gal and its super fine, never had a problem and the plants do great in it, sorry bout your fish

That sucks, man. Good luck. Do more research before you do something like that. Simply product description let me know that it was primarily for turtles and salamanders.

Bon chance.

MAn, My Aus Lung looks bummed out now I sucked out all his sand, like I just destroyed his home.
He's hanging out on the little bit that I left.
I'm def gonna replace it with some 3M sand.

That sucks Dan...sounded like cool stuff. Hope your fish will be okay. What color are you going to get?

Personally I would go with pool filter sand, as i did the sand box sand (if you do this make sure to read the labels, make sure its not treated) and I disliked it bc it was a very dirty sand and required much washing. I eventually took it all out after 6 months, as it didn't look nearly as nice or clean after a while, no mater how much I vacuumed up the waste. If i was to do sand again, I would go pool filter, but that is just my opinion.

Live and learn... Hopefully your fish are ok.. Yes I would put some 3m or other sand in asap.. might help keep some of the other sand that's left down..

Sand box sand is horrible, it's way too fine and it will never get clean enough. I destroyed 3 AC110's with that stuff and swore I'd never use sand again. I recently tried pool filter sand and that stuff is great, 1000 times better then play sand.
