sand or gravel? which ones your favorite

just curious to see which is every ones favorite and what i should put in with my future stock of a bichir, pbass, gar, and pike cichlid

I've used sand but I'm a gravel guy.

I use sand in my Cichlid tanks and gravel in my brackish and community tanks. But, I prefer the look of sand and how it is a bit easier to clean, so for your poll, I'll vote sand

But, pool filter sand.

I started with sand but the filter sucked it away. It 's now gravel.

tile it is lol just playing im thinking ill be safe with sand cuz i have a weird set up going and the intake pipes are way at the top of the water column so there shouldn't be any sand that gets sucked up. so ill proly do sand
is there something to worry about cuz ive read that sand ''chokes'' and it becomes too dense or something? any thing i can do to combat this?

I like sand cause theres more sand types i like then gravel but i have some tiny natural looking gravel in my 40 that i really like.
