sand or gravel? which ones your favorite

I use sand in all my tanks now. Refuse to use gravel.

Im currently using fine crushed shell grit in my 120gal african tank, wish i had gone with proper sand though.

the landscaping bushes around my house have a ton of fish tank gravel mixed in the roots from used tanks I've aquired. There's no place for gravel in a fish tank, too much gook collects.
