I've got black sand + regular flourite in one tank, it looks really good. I'm thinking that my next tank will probably be PFS plus some natural gravel.

I have had PFS and it was pretty nice...and by far the best bang for the buck...and really slick looking if you are doing a planted/biotope tank. However if your just running a hardscape and no/few plants I think black sand really makes cichlids color pop out, obviously with a few exceptions (discus, DD angels, flowerhorn) It will also make some pleco's REALLY pop, black sand + green phantom plec = sexy times.
