mabe you need to spend some time cleaning it as i have never had a muddy or clody tank that didnt clear up in a few hours

dont get mad at everyone because you didnt do your research and read one post. clearly pool filter sand is much better. play sand is not meant to be submerged in water, pool filter sand is. get it from a pool supply store.

yeah pythons are still lifesavers with sand. just hover above the sand rather than sifting through it. Practice makes perfect.

Home Depot sand or play ground sand. i Figuered i would give this a try as my lfs doesnt carry and sand or S/W fish. Very bad idea. I even followed all the steps to rinse it like the diy forum suggested. Who ever the f***** idiot was that said home depot sand was ok is a F***** moron. I cleaned it tell the water ran clear like suggested. I stired the sand and let it run again and i will be damned if it didnt turn my tank water to mud.

I have some very Pissed off fish atm and i will not be following anything on this site again unless someone posts how and what that has more sence then a 3 year old or more then 1000 posts.

Sorry to flame but im sick of to many know it alls that run rampent on forum sites then add that they are god and this so works better then the real thing.
Me personaly i will be buying sand online as i dont need fish that are $50 plus to die becuase i wanted a cheap way out.

I am surprised anyone even replied to your post!! The people here are helpful and nice, except for cretins like yourself. Get an education, read books and forums on fish keeping and figure it out on your own. If you had read this forum you would have found MANY threads like this one where people tell you that play sand looks great but is difficult not to stir up, and that is why a lot of people prefer pool filter sand.
