  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the jar seems fine but the barra is gettin cloudy eyes

drop your ph a little bit if you can because acidic water reduces toxicity of ammonia. Is your tank kept near a window because alot of fish develop this thing that looks like cataracts when exposed to direct sunlight. Happened to my barra all i had to do was shut the blinds and maintain water quality

yean but the window is shut and blinds down my oscar and first arra all got cloudy eyes and they looked really week unfourtuatly i was on holiday and couldnd do anything about it but imm convinced its amonia so i will do as i said before

Just keep goin with water changes maybe up it to 20% daily see if it improves , good luck mate

cheers i wiill do that

also, you might want to consider the water ager you are using. I know there are some that also work similar to that ammo-lock stuff where they bind to ammonia particles. That may help. Also, a bit of rock salt could help control the bacteria causing the ammonia spike

ok where do i get rock salt ut tody my amonia is a 0.25ppm so its dropping and arra is looking alo healitheir and water clearing up

Glad its dropping not sure if they stock it in oz but there's a solution called prime in UK that gets amonia levels down and helps maintain wster balance of tanks , My lfs use it in there systems ,sounds like the water changes are working though did you up it to 20% or stick with 10% ? , how's the bara ?

i havent done one yet but tomoz i will do a 20% then friday again the barras good i think he is getting better but his eyes havent cleared up ut im not suprised it takes time to fully heal but hes schooling with the jar

yeah, Prime made by Seachem. And yes just pure rock salt... make sure it has NO iodine
