I was thinkin about getting one aswell see how I get on , my mates growing some upat the min , I've tried big cichlids in past jar kills most of em , silver fish is a no no aswell he hates them peacocks are one of the options I've got left there not cheep at decent size though so looks like ill have to keep close eye on them when I do , get one turtles you've got more space than me , how much you looking at for a 8-10" one in oz ?

i can get trio for 400 but ussually 150 each at 5" but idont know if i want one cause i ddont like expensive fish i dont like paying much over 40 except jars for a fish they are too riskey if ihad a major power outtage then my fish are gone its a hit or miss

somehow i had a feeling. really nice fish but locally very expensive once they're coloured up. If you were thinking of cichlids, have you considered jaguars or bay snooks (red or green)?

i dont like ciclids much i like jags but if my jar were to to fight to thee death with a jag would the jar win but i only realy like peacock bass they look cool i might get a jag

I've got a 10" jag in with my jar at the min he's the sole survivor out of everythin I've tried except the cats , there fine now they've grown up together , the jags hard as nails but he still knows who the boss it lol

jags are a little more hardy when it comes to temp

but that being said, I reckon cichlids in a native tank would look a bit out of place. Keep them in a tank away from the natives lol
