i could buildone but i gotta see i i can heat the pond cheap but if i go for a tank then has to be 3ft wide for the barramundisWow turtles a lots changed mate , how much you looking to spend on a tank ? Thought about building plywood one ? Or poss raised pond with insulated pannels on sides and cover for night , you could make the insulation pannels removable for summer months pretty easy I reckon by using insultsted plaster boards or removable pannels with insulation foam in the voids , much like dry lining and insulating a house walls , what you reckon ? Just a crazy idea ive got but it mite just work in your climate![]()
yea it is hard to get themm on pellets but i reackon if you have heaps of hiding spots you can keep a few fish like my jar was biting my fish before so i put alot of decarations and hiding spots and he leaves them alone but just give it a trywelcome to mfk , how bigs the jar your getting ? If its a juvi it'll be ok for a while , as for tankmates mines killed loads over the years as you'll prob read earyier in the thread , big cats work irwini , Niger , giraffe , clarius , plecs etc , ive got a jag cichlid in with mine he's bullied him off and on for years but never causes real damage he's the only cichlid out of many who survied , ive also got a big pacu gets away with it because of size alone , you've just got to be brave try stuff and monitor it , I feed mine prawns (raw is best ) muscles , whitebait , and pellets but he'll only eat one type , pretty hard to get them on pellet but turtles has managed it , hope this helps you good luck![]()
